7/7 neon white

Neon White from Annapurna Interactive is a fast-paced puzzle platformer with a lot of shooting. This game combines elements from dating, puzzle games and roguelites to collect cards in a way that works better than it is entitled to. It also has a main character that epitomizes the “Cool Assassin” genre.

Neon White’s handling of the classic feud between angels and demons is a refreshing update to a plot that’s been done many times before. This game remains engaging and interactive throughout the 11 hours of gameplay.

6/7 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge

Dotemu and Gamera Games took the ’80s arcade era back to its roots with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge. This game plays as straightforwardly as its antique predecessor, takes just over two hours of your time, and is equally fun.

If you are looking for a good side exercise game, Shredder’s Revenge is just what you need. It’s time to turtle, kick some shells, and show the shredder who really runs the streets. Or at least the sewers under those streets.

5/7 Sevo

Sloclap’s martial arts game, Sifu brings tight combat controls and high combat risk to the linear marketplace. The art direction and animation are both clean and stunning, something that isn’t always easy to do with stylistic and contemporary 3D animation.

Vendetta Tale, Sifu is technically only 10 hours, but the difficulty makes it even longer. High kick kung fu battles and unique gameplay mechanics make it one of the best games to grab if you love challenging combat.

4/7 Journey to my day

While Devolver Digital’s dreary action game is completely linear, there are some rare opportunities to snag some upgrades and add-ons in Trek to Yomi. Hiroki, a warrior recently displaced from a devastated village, seeks answers and fairness from those in charge.

Trek to Yomi is a black and white side scrolling tool that can be finished in about five hours. The compelling story of loss and hardship and the monochromatic visuals will keep you thinking about this game long after it’s over.

The Outsiders and Funcom have made a rhythm-based first-person shooter game that rivals the likes of the Touhou Project series with Metal: Hellsinger. It doesn’t take long for this game to reach a very suitable state, with the pace and speed of gameplay steadily increasing.

With its brutal, demonic art style and infernal mechanics, Metal: Hellsinger is short, clocking in at just about four hours. Enjoy shooting to the beat for bigger rewards and blasting some power as you mow down waves of enemies.

2/7 Midnight fast fighting

The motion-captured animation packs a punch in Midnight Fight Express from Jacob Dzwinel and Humble Games. This grueling and stuttering combat game plays smoothly, with a great soundtrack and engaging art style.

Midnight Fight Express is a one or two linear punch that can be consumed in four to five hours, as long as you can get through all forty levels in one piece. With powerful controls and realistic impact, there is no shortage of adrenaline in the game’s bite-sized story.

1/7 We are OFK

But are we really though? Discover what “Okay” really means in this short musical bio that doubles as an interactive EP. The OFK team came out of the park with a five-hour story of emotion and sound.

Four band members embark on a journey of challenge, art, and inner survival around the Los Angeles area. Art is elegant and cheerful, at times clashing with the turbulent moods and thoughts of its stars. We OFK have learned some lessons about balance and kindness that we can all learn from.
