Anyone familiar with Sifu’s busy mod scene will know it’s full of casual cosmetic fixes, but this varies. By choosing to equip a hat before the battle, the player will retain his hood until he maintains the first hit. Once again, everything is simple but cool – an idea born from the classic PS2 action fighter directed by Resident Evil mastermind, Shinji Mikami. “Our creative director is a huge fan of the old action game, God Hand,” explains Sananikone. “In this game, things start by sticking a paper on your back that says ‘Kick Me’. You lose that piece of paper after you’ve got your first hit. This was our little reference for that, our homage is something that was really great from God’s hand, but built on Our own way.”
In a game that wears its influences firmly on its bloodstained cover — from old books to classic cinema and, obviously, old school video games — this neat little nod to God Hand seems fitting. From here, I guess Sifu players will continue to show them off Skills on social media In mouth-watering fits of excellence, now with new headgear firmly attached to their heads. Back in its heyday, the best God Hand players performed KMS Runs – Unsuccessful Challenge Rounds where the goal was to complete the entire game with the aforementioned “Kick Me” tag installed on the back of the protagonist Gene. Made famous in recent years by the likes of Dark Souls and Elden Ring, I fully expect Sifu players to take on a similarly unsuccessful hat from here.
