The biggest gaming news for September 15, 2022

The Tokyo Game Show is in full swing and has already given a lot of exciting shows, but it’s Kojima who’s talking to everyone as he’s got a fresh tease for an upcoming project.

Other big announcements released today include the release date of Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0 and Elden Ring garnering its first, possibly many, many Game of the Year awards. Read on for more information.

Kojima teases a new game with a mysterious poster, and fans suspect Jordan Peele and Ellie’s involvement in a new game

Kojima is part of teasing his fans whenever he has a new project on the horizon, and he’s doing it again with a cryptic photo shared on the Kojima Productions website depicting a silhouette of a woman’s head with the words “Who am I?” over the top. Internet investigators have already discovered that Elle Fanning is most likely the woman responsible for the silhouette, leading fans to believe that she will co-star as the soon-to-be-announced Kojima.

Call of Duty Warzone 2.0 launches on November 16

Infinity Ward appeared during this year’s Call of Duty Next show, giving fans the release date of Warzone 2.0 as well as a look at the new map, Al Mazrah. Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0 will launch as a free-to-play game for all platforms on November 16 later this year, with the game set to offer close-up chatting as well as a new Tarkov-inspired game mode called DMZ.

Elden Ring wins Game of the Year at the Japan Game Awards

We’re fast approaching award season soon because I’m sure many of you will already be thinking about which game to put in your top ten lists. One of the games likely to dominate this year is Elden Ring, as the title has already managed to take home one Game of the Year award during the Japan Game Awards, an event that takes place during the Tokyo Game Show. This one is already in the bag, as more awards are likely to follow as we get closer to the end of the year.

Overwatch 2 Kiriko confirmed, first new wizard in nearly 3 years

Activision Blizzard has finally confirmed the existence of its new hero, Overwatch 2 today, despite several leaks that have already given us a look at the character as well as her movie role. Kiriko was officially revealed during an Xbox demo at Tokyo Game Show and will be the first wizard added to the series in nearly three years.

Street Fighter 6 emphasizes character creation and shows more of its open world

Finally, Capcom also had a presentation during the Tokyo Game Show where it revealed some of the big titles in development. One such title was Street Fighter 6, as it has now been confirmed that the game will feature a character builder that will allow you to make the most chaotic fighter the franchise has ever seen. We’ve also taken a closer look at more of the game’s open world, with Street Fighter 6 promising to be much deeper than previous titles.
